Our Review
Let’s get the quotable material out of the way from the very start. Road Trip – the funniest movie I have ever seen. When I first found the unseen and explicit version of the VHS copy in my hands I though hmm, I wonder what this is. I spent the next hour or two crippled in the corner of my couch, unable to stop laughing.

If I had one time for you though it is don’t watch it alone. As with all comedies, the effect wares of on subsequent viewings and to replicate my own experiences you need a couple of friends around and an immature attitude. Then again if you don’t, you probably won’t be the type of person who will be watching Road Trip.

The plot is simple and original. Josh Parker (Breckin Meyer) is in a long term relationship with childhood friend Tiffany Henderson (Rachel Blanchard) but now they are both at college maintaining a long distance relationship is becoming difficult. Eventually Josh caves, jumps into bed with Beth (Amy Smart) and wouldn’t you know, ends up video taping it.

In a twist of fate the tape ends up getting mailed to Tiffany and John has to rush off to recover the tape before Tiffany sees it. For good measure he brings along his friends E.L. (Seann William Scott) and Rubens (Paulo Costanzo) and the sheltered Kyle (DJ Qualls) is brought along so they feel less bad about taking his car.

The film seemed to be overshadowed by Tom Green. It’s not really about Green at all over than him going to the same college, narrating the story as he gives a campus tour and of course the unforgettable moment when he eats a live mouse. Green is more an addition to the movie than a central player however.

When it comes down to it, the film is just another teen sex romp with crude humour, bad jokes and a plot line that serves no other purchase then to provide a vessel for the humour. But that doesn’t matter because the movie is quite simply hilarious.
